As Phoenix cantered across the ground he looked as if he were having a fight with himself, a fight from within. He was twisting around and bucking every so often, grunting in frustration as he threw in another massive buck, flinging his back end up into the air as he slowed to a trot. It was much harder to do a buck in trot, but he wasn't paying attention to that now, he didn't want to do that now. Having entered the darker lands he was interested in finding out if another brute had already claimed them, and if so, who?
It took only a little while longer for him to explore and find out that no one dwelled here, not even the hardy darks who could cope anyway, with any conditions. His ears flicked back and fourth as he listened to the absolute silence around him, shaking his head viciously suddenly. Rearing up high into the air, vertical and in danger of falling over backwards, he clutched his fore legs close to his chest, throwing his head up as he called out to anyone within ear shot.
I Phoenix, claim these lands as my own!
He screamed the words into the surrouding atmosphere, his throat aching as he gently landed back on all fours again, head held high as he awaited for any sounds. Although he doubted there would be any.
